We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Business Support Officer to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis.

Reporting to the Business Manager, this role provides day-to-day support across accounting, payroll and general business administration. It would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers, is highly organised, detail-focused and is looking for a varied role within a supportive community organisation.

About the Role

As Business Support Officer, you will work closely with the Business Manager to maintain accurate financial records and assist with the day-to-day financial and administrative requirements of WDRV.

The role is hands-on and practical, with responsibilities across accounts payable and receivable, payroll assistance, financial records, reporting and general administration.

You will also provide support with audits, compliance requirements and other business tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with fortnightly payroll, including processing, superannuation and ensuring compliance with employee conditions and the WDRV Enterprise Agreement.
  • Assist with financial reporting, bond registers, resident financial records and agreements.
  • Assist with audits, accreditation requirements and maintaining financial and business records.
  • Provide general business and administrative support, including contractor and supplier documentation, responding to enquiries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial and administrative processes while maintaining confidentiality and a high standard of customer service.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Previous experience in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Good computer skills, particularly MYOB, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and professional conduct.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety and equal employment opportunity requirements.
  • Current and suitable police check or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable

  • Experience with payroll, particularly shift work and penalty rates.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Act and residential aged care requirements.
  • Experience with trust accounting and audit processes.
  • Knowledge of quality and continuous improvement processes.

Why Join WDRV?

  • Permanent part-time or full-time opportunity (4 - 5 days per week).
  • Work in a supportive, values-driven, not-for-profit organisation.
  • A varied role across accounting, payroll and administration.
  • Supportive working environment with a friendly and collaborative team.
  • Opportunity to develop your knowledge of aged care and not-for-profit business operations.
  • Salary and conditions in accordance with the WDRV Enterprise Agreement.
  • Enjoy the lifestyle benefits of working in the beautiful coastal community of Woolgoolga.

If you are an experienced accounting or finance team member who is organised, reliable and enjoys a varied hands-on role, we'd love to hear from you.
