Business Systems & Data Analyst

Summary The Business Systems & Data Analyst will support operational efficiency, financial performance and business process improvement across the organization. The role will initially focus on revenue assurance, cost accuracy and shipment profitability and expand into initiatives involving cost automation, advanced reporting, pricing analytics, smart routing and business systems optimization.

Essential Functions:

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

· Analyze large datasets across financial, operational, and commercial systems to identify discrepancies, trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

· Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, analytical reports, and performance metrics

· Use SQL, Excel, Power Query, and other analytical tools to extract, reconcile, transform, and analyze data

· Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for management

· Improve data accuracy, consistency, and visibility across business systems

Revenue Assurance & Financial Analysis

· Audit shipment revenue, vendor invoices, quoted costs, and actual expenses to identify financial discrepancies

· Investigate incorrect charges, missing customer billing, cost variances, and margin leakage

· Work with Operations and Finance to resolve discrepancies and recover revenue

· Analyze shipment-level profitability across customers, vendors, lanes, and operational teams

· Develop automated reporting and controls to proactively identify financial exceptions

· Identify recurring issues and implement solutions to prevent future revenue leakage

Business Process Improvement & Automation

· Evaluate existing workflows to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements

· Design and implement data-driven solutions to reduce manual work and improve accuracy

· Collaborate with operational teams and IT to develop automated controls, reporting processes, and system enhancements

· Document business requirements, process improvements, and automation opportunities

· Monitor implemented solutions to ensure continued accuracy and effectiveness

Advanced Analytics & Business Systems Development

· Support the development of automated costing, pricing, and shipment routing solutions

· Analyze transportation costs, carrier performance, transit times, and operational data to improve business decisions

· Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on data integration, system improvements, and analytical tools

· Assist in developing predictive and decision-support models for operational and commercial applications

· Take on additional analytical and systems improvement initiatives as business needs evolve

Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or relevant field

· Freight forwarding, transportation, logistics or supply chain experience a plus

· Advanced experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

· Expereince using Python for data analysis, reporting or automation

· Working knowledge of APIs, relational databases and data integrations

· Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow automatin tools

· Understanding of financial data, cost accounting, profitability analysis or revenue assurance

· Familiarity with transportation management systems, ERP platforms or CRM systems a plus

· Exposure to pricing optimaztion, routing analysis, predictive analytics or AI-driven business applications helpful

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
