What they need
Business Systems Data Analyst
About JEM
Founded in 1999, JEM is a privately held company that designs, manufactures and sells consumer electronics accessories, including charging and power products, cables, power banks, audio and smart home devices. We bring well-known licensed brands to market through some of the world's largest retailers, along with ecommerce, and distributors.
The Opportunity
JEM is investing in how we use data across the business, and we're looking for a Business Systems Data Analyst to help lead that work. Over the next year we're making two major system upgrades. We're moving our ERP from Sage to NetSuite, and we're moving product development into Centric PLM, so that development, sourcing, production and quality (QA/QC) all work from the same system and the same product data. On top of both, we're building internal tools and automated workflows that connect how products are developed with how they're sold. Each of these projects depends on clean, well-structured data, and that's where you come in.
This role is a good fit for someone early in their career who has strong SQL Server skills, an interest in the financial side of the business, and a desire for real ownership. You'll work directly with leadership, learn how a consumer products business runs end to end, and build things people use every day.
What You'll Do
ERP data and migration
- Learn our ERP data in Sage: how items, costs, orders, inventory, customers and financials are structured and connected
- Support our migration to NetSuite by mapping data between the two systems, cleaning it up, and validating the results after it moves
- Document data definitions and business rules so everyone works from the same numbers
Financial analysis
- Analyze performance across our business entities and sales channels, including B2B wholesale and ecommerce
- Build profitability views by entity, channel, customer and product, covering revenue, cost of goods, margin and the key cost drivers
- Partner with finance to reconcile operational data to the books and explain variances
- Turn financial results into clear insights that help leadership decide where to invest, adjust pricing, or cut costs
Order and inventory flows
- Map how customer orders move through our business, from EDI purchase orders received through TrueCommerce to fulfillment, shipment and invoicing
- Track warehouse inventory flows, including receipts, transfers, on-hand balances and shipments
- Build reporting that shows where orders and inventory stand, and flag delays, gaps or mismatches early
Data tables and reporting
- Build data tables from ERP, PLM and EDI data that give the business clear visibility into items, costs, inventory, orders, sales and profitability
- Set up automated data feeds into Microsoft SQL Server so reporting stays current without manual exports
- Create checks that catch data quality issues and keep numbers consistent across systems
- Prepare reliable, well-documented data for internal tools and automated workflows
Business partnership
- Work with finance, operations, supply chain, sales, product development and sourcing to understand their questions and turn them into data they can act on
- Learn the business behind the data, including how products are developed and costed, how orders are fulfilled, and how each channel makes money
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, analytical or finance-related field, or equivalent experience
- 0–3 years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis or data engineering (internships and projects count)
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures and views
- Working knowledge of Python for data work
- An understanding of relational databases and data modeling
- Comfort with core financial concepts like revenue, cost of goods, gross margin and the P&L
- Careful with details and clear when explaining your work to people who aren't technical
- Interested in learning the business, not just the tools
Nice to Have
- SSIS, SSMS, or SQL Server Agent jobs
- Google BigQuery
- ERP or PLM experience (Sage, NetSuite, Centric)
- EDI experience (TrueCommerce), including documents like purchase orders, advance ship notices and invoices
- Experience with warehouse or inventory data
- Financial modeling, multi-entity reporting, or experience with general ledger data
- Experience with ecommerce or marketplace data
- Experience working with APIs
- Background in consumer products, retail or supply chain
Why This Role
- Shape how data is used across the entire company
- Work directly with leadership and get real mentorship
- Gain broad exposure to finance, supply chain, operations and product development
- See how every part of the business connects, from product cost to channel profitability
- Room to grow as our data capabilities expand
- Healthcare and 401(k)
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- 401(k) matching
- Dental insurance
- Flexible spending account
- Health insurance
- Health savings account
- Life insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
