Job Description:

Horvath & Tremblay is seeking a Business Technology Lead to manage the day-to-day execution of the firm's technology strategy, projects, systems, and technology operations as we continue to scale our national commercial real estate platform.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position for an individual who combines strong management and project execution skills with a practical understanding of technology. The Business Technology Lead will be responsible for translating business priorities into actionable technology initiatives and ensuring those initiatives are successfully implemented across the organization.

The successful candidate does not need to be a software engineer or deep technical specialist. Instead, we are looking for an exceptional operator, manager, problem-solver, and communicator who can coordinate internal resources and outside partners, establish accountability, manage competing priorities, and consistently drive projects through completion.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Business Technology Lead will serve as a primary point of coordination between the firm's leadership, brokerage teams, operations, finance, technology staff, and external technology partners.

We are looking for an individual that can excel in a fast-paced environment. Day-to-day functions include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the firm's technology staff and external technology partners, setting clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards
  • Own technology projects from scoping and planning through execution, stakeholder communication, and delivery — keeping timelines, budgets, and accountability on track
  • Identify high-value opportunities where AI can reduce repetitive administrative work, improve research, accelerate information processing, and enhance employee productivity.
  • Partner with leadership across brokerage, operations, and finance to understand business needs and translate them into clear, prioritized project plans
  • Oversee the firm's core business platforms, including our CRM, internal databases, and corporate applications — ensuring data integrity, usability, and alignment with business needs
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including vendor relationships, software licensing, and technology infrastructure
  • Drive adoption of new tools and processes through change management, training, and documentation
  • Prepare and present project updates, priorities, and performance reporting to firm leadership

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • IN-OFFICE ROLE: Candidate must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Boston area
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of progressive professional experience in technology, business operations, project management, systems implementation, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2–3 years of demonstrated leadership or management experience, including responsibility for employees, vendors, consultants, or cross-functional project teams. Demonstrated success managing teams and external vendors in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering cross-functional initiatives on time and driving them to completion
  • Comfort with AI tools, workflow automation, and process improvement — and genuine enthusiasm for what's possible in this space
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce experience is a plus)
  • Experience in commercial real estate, financial services, or a similarly deal-driven industry preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, executive communication skills, and high attention to detail
  • High ethical standards, entrepreneurial drive, and a bias toward action

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes ownership. When a business problem or technology initiative is assigned to them, they organize the right people, establish a plan, identify obstacles, communicate clearly, and drive the initiative through completion.

They are comfortable moving between strategic and tactical responsibilities — presenting a technology roadmap to senior leadership in one meeting and working directly with a vendor or employee to solve an implementation issue in the next.

They are curious about technology and enthusiastic about the opportunities created by artificial intelligence and automation, but they are equally focused on execution. They understand that successful technology is not simply about selecting the right software; it is about improving processes, gaining employee adoption, maintaining high-quality data, and producing measurable business results.

Above all, this individual will bring accountability, organization, urgency, and follow-through to Horvath & Tremblay's technology initiatives as the firm continues to grow nationally.
