Busser/Host

Position Summary

The Host/Busser provides excellent customer service to ensure that all guests feel welcomed, cared for, and valued as they enter and leave the clubhouse and while dining. This role manages the front-of-house guest flow, including greeting, seating, and follow-up, while also supporting the dining room by clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables throughout service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Welcomes guests to the venue by greeting them using proper hospitality techniques.

● Manages reservations, provides accurate wait times, and monitors waiting lists.

● Coordinates with wait staff about available seating options.

● Escorts customers to assigned dining or bar areas.

● Provides menus and announces the assigned server's name.

● Engages with guests to ensure they are happy with food and service.

● Thanks customers upon departure and invites them back to dine.

● Answers customer questions.

● Maintains a clean and inviting entrance area.

● Prepares the dining room for guests by cleaning tables.

● Protects the establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.

● Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean.

● Removes used plates, glasses, cutlery, and napkins from tables after diners have finished.

● Supports wait staff by setting up and replenishing condiment stands.

● Assists in closing dining service by cleaning chairs and tables, vacuuming floors, and removing trash from the dining and bar areas.

● Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities are not limited to this description.

Equipment/Tools Used

Telephone, pens, seating chart, note pad, vacuum cleaner, bus tubs, bus carts, sanitizing solution, and broom.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the F&B Manager of Hospitality. This is a non-supervisory position.

Working Conditions

Works in an indoor dining room environment. Requires availability for evenings, weekends, and special events as scheduled, with periods of fast-paced guest traffic.

Physical Demands

● (E) Constantly stands and walks throughout the shift.

● Occasionally sits, reaches outward or overhead, squats, kneels, and bends.

● Must be able to stay on feet for prolonged periods of time.

● Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds.

● Occasionally pushes or pulls items up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

● Work Experience: Reliable work history interfacing with the public; serving experience preferred.

● Education: High School Diploma preferred.

Pay: $12.00 per hour
