The Role

Tanaka New York is seeking Bussers/Runners to join its opening dining-room team. Working closely with servers, sommeliers, chefs, and management, this position plays an essential role in ensuring service moves seamlessly from the kitchen to the table.

This is an opportunity to learn within a highly detailed Japanese dining environment and grow alongside an experienced international hospitality team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dishes accurately and confidently from the kitchen to guests
• Learn menu items, ingredients, and proper presentation
• Support servers throughout service
• Clear, reset, and maintain tables to Tanaka’s standards
• Maintain water service and anticipate guest needs
• Ensure service stations remain clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Communicate closely with the kitchen and FOH team
• Handle plateware, glassware, and service pieces carefully
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining room
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and menu education

Ideal Candidate

• Previous restaurant experience preferred. Fine-dining or elevated hospitality experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and awareness during service
• Professional and positive attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Genuine interest in Japanese cuisine and hospitality
• Willingness to learn and grow within the restaurant
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
