About the role

The Asia Pacific Team is seeking a highly analytical Buyer to drive sustainable, profitable growth for POLO through the development and execution of merchandise strategies for POLO APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Develop assortment selections that drive overall business goals for APAC region, with strong understanding of regional market and country/channel specific needs
• Identify and communicate opportunities through excellent product sensibility and understanding of competitive retail landscape
• Partner with Planning team on seasonal OTB to identify opportunities and risks based on product assortment
• Coordinate with Global Merchandising and Production teams in developing regionally appropriate assortments that support global initiatives
• Partner with Regional merchandise to understand country specific needs and business trends
• Review and manage sales and analysis reports regularly to identify risks and opportunities
• Work with Planning and Creative teams on product merchandising, floor/fixture capacities, promotions and product related tasks
• Manage and execute regional pricing strategies at both full price and markdown
• Create seasonal product presentations and conduct seasonal training overviews
• Oversee operational tasks including managing assortment documents, ensuring product and buy data accuracy, and preparing materials for seasonal handoff

Requirements:

• 5+ years Merchandising experience
• Strong leadership and team building skills, including ability to motivate, negotiate and influence effectively across departments, divisions and the larger organization
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for business
• Ability to problem solve creatively to meet business needs
• Attention to detail with high level of accuracy
