Buyer/ Canvasser

Job Summary

The Canvasser is responsible for sourcing and procuring construction and mining materials, equipment, spare parts, PPE, consumables, supplies, and services at competitive prices while meeting required quality and delivery standards. The role ensures timely procurement and delivery to offices, warehouses, project sites, and mine sites in accordance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, spare parts, PPE, consumables, supplies, and services based on approved requirements.
• Canvass qualified suppliers, obtain and compare quotations, negotiate prices and payment terms, and prepare Purchase Orders.
• Monitor purchase orders and coordinate deliveries to ensure materials and services are delivered accurately, completely, and on time.
• Expedite urgent and critical purchases to minimize operational, construction, or project delays.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain a reliable supplier network for construction and mining requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, including pricing, product quality, lead times, and delivery reliability.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding quotations, purchase orders, deliveries, product specifications, and procurement concerns.
• Coordinate with Operations, Construction, Mining, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to confirm procurement requirements and specifications.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of purchase requests, quotations, canvass sheets, Purchase Orders, deliveries, and supplier information.
• Ensure all purchases comply with approved specifications, quality and safety requirements, budgets, and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in canvassing, purchasing, or procurement.
• Experience in construction, mining, or industrial supply is an advantage.
• Good negotiation, supplier coordination, and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
• Willing to work in Pasig City and coordinate with project/mine sites when needed.
