Buyer

We are working with a growing electrical construction contractor that is looking for an experienced Prefab Buyer to join its Houston operation.

This position will support the company's electrical prefabrication operation and is best suited to someone with hands-on purchasing experience who understands the importance of material availability, pricing, vendor relationships and delivery schedules within a fast-moving construction environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage purchasing requirements for an electrical prefab operation
• Create, issue and manage purchase orders
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers
• Source electrical materials and equipment
• Review pricing and support cost-effective purchasing decisions
• Expedite materials to maintain production schedules
• Track outstanding orders and expected delivery dates
• Resolve material shortages and supply issues
• Coordinate material deliveries with prefab and operational teams
• Maintain accurate purchasing and procurement records
• Work closely with Prefab, Operations, Project Management and other internal teams
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships

What We're Looking For

• Previous Buyer or Purchasing experience required
• Electrical construction purchasing experience strongly preferred
• Prefab purchasing experience is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of purchase orders, materials, vendors, pricing and expediting
• Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously
• Strong communication and vendor-management skills
• Experience with ERP or procurement systems
• Kojo, Vista or similar system experience is advantageous
• Hands-on purchasing experience rather than purely administrative procurement support
