About the role

The Buyer manages assigned merchandise categories through strategic sourcing, assortment planning, pricing, and inventory management. The role drives sales and margin performance, manages supplier relationships and negotiations, monitors market trends, and ensures product availability and optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned merchandise categories to achieve sales, margin, and inventory targets.
• Plan product assortment, pricing, inventory, and Open-to-Buy (OTB) based on market and customer needs.
• Source products and manage supplier relationships, including cost and commercial negotiations.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and category performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Supervise and coach Assistant Buyers and Merchandising Assistants to ensure effective execution.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in Buying, Merchandising, Category Management or Retail.
• Strong experience in product sourcing, assortment planning, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Results-oriented with strong business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
