Buyer (Supply-Chain)

About the role

K&T Precision Engineering is hiring an experienced Buyer to run day-to-day supply-management to support our manufacturing demands.

You will own the full supply-management cycle for direct/in-direct materials, components and sub-contracting needs to ensure cost-efficient and timely production turnaround for each project.

This role is highly suitable for candidates with related experience in a CNC Precision Engineering operation or an industrial manufacturing environment.

Candidates from a engineering materials, industrial components or fabrication background who meet our requirement are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing, Purchasing & Supplier Performance Management
• Coordinate Outsourced Contracting Works
• Ensure accurate and current Bill-of-Materials
• Ensure accurate Job Order Kitting & Output Tracking
• Maintain detailed and current Supply Chain Records and Documentation
• Ensure Compliance to established Supply-Chain & Quality Policies
• Daily Project Status and Schedule Tracking Updates
• Inventory Planning and Control to ensure availability, accuracy, cost efficiency, meet quality expectations and achieve timely project completion
• Conduct Continuous Improvement Reviews and Implementation
• Support Import-Export Logistics (Shipping, Customs, LMW etc)

About you

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of related experience, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and good understanding of engineering processes
• Good working knowledge of raw materials, components specifications (e.g. grades, sizes, tolerances, finishing, certifications/standards etc)
• Strong working knowledge of ERP. Odoo experience or similar ERP system is a strong advantage
• Strategic, decisive and outcome-focused
• Effective communicator and stakeholder manager
• Strong negotiator, follow-through and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365; Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
