Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer/Sourcing professional to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing products and materials, negotiating vendor contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods. Your expertise in supply chain management, procurement systems, and inventory control will drive operational efficiency and support our company's growth objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence purchasing strategies and optimize vendor partnerships in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have some fastener experience and be familiar with ERP and/or experience working in manufacturing.

Duties

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify reliable vendors and secure competitive pricing for a wide range of products and materials.
• Manage procurement processes using ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms to streamline purchasing activities.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements with vendors to maximize value and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, inventory management, and accounting to coordinate order fulfillment and ensure supply chain continuity.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor communications within procurement management systems.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
• Analyze Excel data and other spreadsheets for pricing trends, inventory levels, and procurement performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.

Skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP (SAP ERP), JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or equivalent platforms for procurement and materials management.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory control, logistics, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and sourcing strategies.
• Experience with purchasing management systems that are technically supported within the organization.
• Excellent vendor communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate effectively on price, terms, and contracts.
• Skilled in Excel data analysis for tracking procurement metrics, pricing trends, and inventory levels.
• Familiarity with accounting software related to procurement processes for accurate recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in contract negotiations and vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of logistics operations including shipping, freight costs, and supply chain optimization techniques.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per hour
