Vice President, Platform Engineering

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Build and evolve core platform services across public cloud (Azure as primary platform, AWS as secondary)
• Write production-quality code — this is a hands-on engineering role (80%)
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) and automation-first delivery
• Develop internal developer platform and self-service tooling
• Ensure platforms are secure, reliable, and observable by design
• Partner with teams across Europe, North America, and India
• Act as a senior technical authority and mentor engineers

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

Key Skills

• Azure (primary platform) with AWS exposure
• Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation or similar acceptable
• CI/CD experience – GitLab preferred (Jenkins, TeamCity, Harness acceptable)

What We’re Looking For

• Senior hands-on platform / cloud engineer (not a manager-led role) with 10+ years of experience
• Demonstrated experience designing and building scalable systems
• Strong coding, automation, and problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable working across globally distributed teams
