The Role

We're looking for a Senior .NET Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the microservices that power our core financial products. You'll own services from design through to production, working in a cloud-native environment on Kubernetes with CI/CD through Jenkins. You'll partner with product, DevOps, QA, and security teams to deliver systems that customers trust with their money.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable microservices using C# and .NET 6/7/8 (ASP.NET Core)
• Build and integrate RESTful and gRPC APIs for payments, transfers, wallets, and account management
• Containerize services with Docker, then deploy and operate them on Kubernetes (K8s) using Helm
• Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments
• Integrate with third-party financial systems such as NIBSS (NIP), card schemes, switches, and banking partners
• Write clean, maintainable code with strong test coverage (xUnit, NUnit, Moq)
• Ensure services comply with security and regulatory standards, including PCI DSS, CBN guidelines, and the NDPA
• Improve monitoring and observability (e.g. Serilog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry)
• Take part in code reviews, architecture decisions, and on-call rotation
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and help shape engineering best practices

What You'll Bring

• 4–6 years of professional backend development experience with C# and .NET Core / .NET 6+
• Strong experience with ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core, and dependency injection
• Proven experience designing and running microservices in production
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience building and maintaining Jenkins pipelines
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server or PostgreSQL, plus familiarity with Redis or MongoDB
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus (MassTransit experience is a plus)
• Good understanding of distributed systems patterns: CQRS, idempotency, the saga pattern, retries, and resilience (Polly)
• Familiarity with Git and agile or Scrum workflows
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in fintech, banking, or payments (ISO 8583, ISO 20022, NIP, card processing)
• Experience with Azure or AWS
• Knowledge of API gateways (Ocelot, YARP, Kong) and service mesh (Istio)
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Bicep)
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, CKAD/CKA)

Pay: From ₦800,000.00 per month
