Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced C++ / Embedded Software Architect to act as a Technical Anchor across multiple subsystems. This is an on-site position , based in either Cluj-Napoca or Iasi .

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in modern C++ (C++17 or later), Qt, Windows Embedded, Linux Embedded, and QNX , combined with architect-level ownership of complex software solutions.

You will be responsible for defining and driving technical architecture across subsystems, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring high levels of software quality, maintainability, and consistency throughout the development lifecycle.

The role also requires the active use of Agentic AI as part of the software engineering and development workflow. Previous experience in the MedTech / Medical Devices industry is considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Software Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Define and drive software architecture across multiple components and subsystems
• Act as a Technical Anchor, providing architectural direction and ensuring consistency across development teams
• Own technical decisions across the software development lifecycle
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable and maintainable software architectures
• Support development teams in solving complex technical and cross-subsystem challenges

C++ & Embedded Development

• Design and develop high-quality software using modern C++ (C++17 or later)
• Design and develop applications for Windows Embedded and Linux embedded application development
• Design and develop software running on QNX real-time operating systems
• Ensure portability, performance, reliability, and maintainability across supported platforms

Agentic AI & Engineering Efficiency

• Actively use Agentic AI within software engineering and development workflows
• Promote effective and responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams

Technical Requirements

Must-have

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including significant experience at Architect / Technical Lead level
• Strong hands-on expertise in modern C++
• Experience with Windows Embedded and Linux embedded application development
• Hands-on experience with QNX or demonstrable evidence of the ability to rapidly ramp up on QNX and real-time operating systems
• Active hands-on use of Agentic AI in software engineering and development workflows
• Fluent English communication skills

Nice-to-have

• Previous experience developing software in a safety-critical or regulated environment, such as automotive (ISO 26262 / ASPICE) or industrial (IEC 61508); MedTech / Medical Devices experience under IEC 62304 (Class B or C) is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with FPGA development, particularly Xilinx or Intel toolchains
• Knowledge of server-side web development, including REST APIs and containerisation
• Proficiency in authoring Azure DevOps (ADO) YAML pipelines
• Familiarity with Artifactory integration within development and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on knowledge of the Conan 2 package manager
• Knowledge of package versioning and pre-release conventions
