Role Overview

We are looking for experienced C++ Embedded Software Engineers to join a cross-functional feature team that delivers software across multiple subsystems. This is an on-site position , based in either Cluj-Napoca or Iasi.

The role requires solid hands-on experience in modern C++ (C++17 or later) , with a focus on Qt desktop applications and/or real-time systems such as QNX , as well as Embedded Linux and Windows IoT / kiosk environments . You will take ownership of features end-to-end, from understanding and design through implementation, testing and integration, working closely with the Technical Anchor / Architect and the client’s engineering teams.

The role also requires the active use of Agentic AI as part of the software engineering and development workflow. Previous experience in the MedTech / Medical Devices industry is considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Development & Ownership

• Design, develop and maintain features across multiple components and subsystems
• Analyze existing code, data flows and dependencies before proposing changes
• Prepare technical designs and align them with the Architect and module owners before implementation
• Take end-to-end ownership of delivered features and explain your implementation choices during code reviews

C++ & Embedded Development

• Develop high-quality software using modern C++ (C++17 or later)
• Build and extend desktop GUI applications with Qt
• Develop applications for Windows IoT / kiosk environments
• Develop embedded applications for Linux
• Develop or support software running on QNX real-time operating systems
• Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability across supported platforms

Quality & Testing

• Apply Test-Driven Development and write maintainable unit tests
• Work within CI quality gates: static analysis (clang-tidy), formatting (clang-format), warnings-as-errors, Doxygen documentation
• Support integration and validation on real hardware together with integration and test engineers

Agentic AI & Engineering Efficiency

• Actively use Agentic AI (e.g. GitHub Copilot agent mode) within software engineering and development workflows
• Drive AI tools responsibly: review, understand and own all AI-generated code

Technical Requirements

Must-have

• 4+ years of professional software development experience in modern C++ (C++17 or later)
• Hands-on experience with Qt or QNX / other RTOS
• Experience developing applications for embedded Linux and/or Windows IoT / kiosk environments
• Experience with unit testing and static analysis tools
• Active hands-on use of Agentic AI in software engineering and development workflows
• Good knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows
• Fluent English communication skills

Nice-to-have

• Previous experience developing software in a safety-critical or regulated environment, such as automotive (ISO 26262 / ASPICE) or industrial (IEC 61508); MedTech / Medical Devices experience under IEC 62304 (Class B or C) is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with FDA regulations for medical device software (e.g. 21 CFR Part 11)
• Experience with both Qt and QNX / other RTOS
• Familiarity with FPGA development (Xilinx or Intel toolchains)
• Experience with CMake and the Conan 2 package manager
• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) YAML pipelines and Artifactory integration
• Knowledge of server-side development, including REST APIs and containerisation
