C++ Engineering Lead - Electronic Trading & OMS

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Vice President to lead the design, development, and evolution of our Equities OMS and electronic trading platform. This individual will combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive architecture, scalability, performance, and delivery across a mission-critical trading environment.

The role partners closely with trading, product, operations, and senior technology leadership to shape the future of the firm's electronic trading capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of high-performance OMS and electronic trading platforms.
• Drive strategic technology initiatives supporting business growth, market structure evolution, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner directly with traders and business stakeholders to translate commercial objectives into scalable technology solutions.
• Own critical platform capabilities including order lifecycle management, routing, risk controls, execution workflows, and exchange connectivity.
• Establish engineering standards, operational excellence, and platform resiliency.
• Mentor senior engineers and cultivate technical leadership across the organization.
• Lead major platform modernization and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record delivering electronic trading and front-office trading platforms..
• Deep expertise in modern C++(C++17/20) and low-latency distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of Equities market structure, OMS/EMS platforms, FIX protocol, market data, and execution workflows.
• Proven experience building and operating front-office trading platforms at scale.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong architectural, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Equities electronic trading, DMA, algorithmic trading, or smart order routing.
• Exchange connectivity and low-latency infrastructure.
• Kafka, Aeron, KDB+, Redis, Python, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience leading global engineering teams and large-scale platform transformations.
• Experience driving adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across the SDLC to improve developer productivity, software quality, and delivery speed.
• Familiarity with AI-powered development platforms, agent-driven workflows, and engineering automation at scale.
