C4ISR - Software Engineering Intern, Summer 2027 (Onsite)

We are seeking internship and co-op candidates entering Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of an undergraduate program to join our Software Engineering Team in Wayne, NJ for the Summer of 2027. Candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience in designing, developing and testing software solutions utilizing Agile methodologies and assisting in other software engineering activities such as integration testing, algorithm & data analysis, software troubleshooting, and preparing documentation in accordance with established procedures.

In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in CS (Computer Science), CE (Computer Engineering), or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content.
• Entering Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of an undergraduate program
• Software coding utilizing modern programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Java, etc.)
• Object oriented design/development
• Must be eligible for a US DoW security clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Real-time embedded development or other hardware-related skills
• Software version control tools (e.g., Git, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an aid to Software Development
• Operating Systems (e.g. Windows and/or UNIX/Linux
• Security clearance (Secret or higher)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $51186 - $69088

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
