Role: CAB Interior engineer

Location: Saitama, Japan

Industry: Commercial Vehicles / Automotive

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Interior Trim / Cab Design Engineer with hands-on expertise in the design and development of automotive interior and exterior trim components, preferably with experience in commercial vehicle cab development. The candidate should have strong proficiency in Creo CAD, knowledge of plastic component design and manufacturing processes, and experience working with OEMs and Tier-1 automotive suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automotive interior trim and cab components from concept to SOP.
• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Creo.
• Handle door trims, interior body trims, and other cab interior components.
• Manage GD&T, engineering drawings, and design data release activities.
• Ensure design feasibility with knowledge of injection-moulded plastics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Report project progress and technical issues to the line manager and project manager.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience in automotive interior trim / cab design and development.
• Proficiency in Creo CAD
• Understanding of GD&T, plastic part design, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with automotive OEMs / Tier-1 suppliers preferred.
• Japanese proficiency JLPT N2/N3 or above and good English communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality and deadlines.
