What This Role Is

This is a hands-on shop position helping build custom cabinetry and prepare it for finishing.

You’ll sand cabinet parts, assemble cabinets and components, and check your work before it moves to the next step. The details matter—from preparing smooth, consistent surfaces to making sure assembled parts fit correctly.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing good work, follows established processes, and speaks up when something isn’t right. Cabinetry experience is helpful, but we’re willing to train someone who is dependable and ready to learn.

What You’ll Own

• Surface preparation. Prepare doors, frames, panels, and other cabinet parts for finishing using the correct sanding steps.
• Assembly quality. Assemble cabinetry, drawers, and range hoods according to shop drawings and instructions.
• Checking your work. Verify that surfaces, joints, and assembled components meet our quality standards before passing them to the next person.
• An organized work area. Keep parts, tools, and supplies organized so work can move smoothly and safely.
• Continuous improvement. You have the freedom to implement improvements that make the work easier, safer, and more consistent. Work with teammates when changes affect shared processes.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

• Prepare cabinet doors, frames, panels, and other wood components for finishing using power sanders and established sanding procedures.
• Follow sanding instructions for different materials and finishes.
• Read measurements, part labels, and shop drawings.
• Glue, clamp, and assemble cabinet components.
• Install hinges, drawer slides, and other hardware as assigned.
• Inspect your work for proper fit, alignment, and surface quality.
• Communicate with teammates about missing parts, quality concerns, and next steps.
• Clean and organize your station and care for shop tools.

• A diligent approach to your work, with care and attention to detail from start to finish.
• Patience to prepare surfaces thoroughly and assemble parts accurately.
• Ability to follow instructions and established shop processes.
• Ability to read a tape measure and work with basic measurements.
• Comfort using hand and power tools, or willingness to learn safe operation.
• A team mindset and openness to feedback.

Preferred Background

Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, furniture assembly, sanding, or finish preparation is helpful. We’ll also consider applicants with other hands-on experience and a strong work ethic.
