What they need
Our team is growing here at Mill-Right Woodworking (MRW)! We are looking for a Cabinetmaker / Installer to join our talented crew based in Bedford. If you’re passionate about craftsmanship, collaboration, and creating exceptional spaces, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As a key member of the MRW team, the Cabinetmaker / Installer will fabricate, assemble and install custom architectural millwork, commercial casework, cabinets, fixtures, and related components. This hands-on role works in both our shop and active project-site environments, with a strong focus on accuracy, fit, productivity, and safe work practices.
How you’ll spend your day:
- Interpret shop drawings and project specifications to produce high-quality finished work.
- Measure, cut, machine, laminate, and prepare materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment used in fabrication and assembly.
- Fabricate and finish cabinets and millwork, including doors, drawers, hardware, and accessories.
- Organize and protect completed components to ensure they arrive on site ready for installation.
- Install custom millwork, cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and hardware at project sites.
- Complete on-site adjustments to ensure each component is level, secure, and properly fitted.
- Inspect completed work throughout fabrication and installation, correcting or reporting deficiencies before it moves to the next stage.
- Coordinate with shop personnel, project teams, and site contacts to support an efficient workflow.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas in both shop and project-site environments.
What will help you thrive:
- Diploma or certificate in Cabinetmaking, Woodworking Technology, or Architectural Millwork from a recognized college or technical institute, or completion of a recognized cabinetmaker apprenticeship program, is an asset.
- At least 10 years of experience fabricating and installing commercial architectural millwork, custom cabinets, casework, or comparable custom wood products.
- Demonstrated experience reading and applying architectural drawings, approved shop drawings, elevations, sections, details, dimensions, and specifications.
- Uses accurate measurements, sound judgement, and practical problem-solving to achieve the required accuracy, fit, finish, and functionality in fabrication and installation work.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with production teams, site contacts, clients, and other project stakeholders.
- Physically capable of regularly lifting, carrying, positioning, and installing materials and finished millwork weighing up to 75 lbs., with assistance or lifting equipment used where required.
- Alignment with our core values: Communication, Accountability, Relationships, and Excellence.
- Valid driver’s license and availability for occasional travel throughout the Atlantic Provinces; first aid and relevant safety certifications are assets.
Why you’ll love it here:
- Our Craftmanship: We take pride in delivering top-quality, custom millwork with precision, care, and creativity — with recent projects including Mystique, Drift, Salt & Ash, The 7 Virtues Perfume Atelier, Darya, and Touch of Gold.
- Our Team: Genuine, down-to-earth people who support one another and share a passion for their craft.
- Our Leadership: Approachable and appreciative, with a true open-door philosophy and a commitment to helping every team member succeed.
- Free on-site parking
- Complimentary coffee & snacks
And, of course the essentials: A competitive total compensation package, group health & dental coverage, RPP employer matched program, and access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
