Cabinetmaking Technician

Job Summary

Norsemen Home Remodeling is seeking a Cabinetmaking Technician to support cabinet fabrication, assembly, finishing, and installation for residential remodeling projects. This role involves preparing materials, operating woodworking tools, assembling cabinet components, checking measurements, and maintaining quality standards to help deliver functional and professionally finished cabinetry.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare wood and panel materials for cabinet production.
• Assemble cabinet boxes, doors, drawers, shelves, and other components.
• Operate woodworking hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Read and follow cabinet drawings, measurements, work orders, and project specifications.
• Prepare cabinet components through sanding, trimming, drilling, and fitting.
• Install hinges, handles, drawer slides, and other cabinet hardware.
• Inspect finished components for accuracy, fit, appearance, and workmanship.
• Assist with cabinet installation and adjustments at remodeling job sites.
• Identify material defects, measurement discrepancies, and production issues.
• Maintain organized tools, equipment, materials, and workshop areas.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic equipment maintenance as trained.
• Coordinate with carpenters, installers, and project supervisors to meet deadlines.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
• Perform additional cabinetmaking and remodeling duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cabinetmaking, woodworking, carpentry, or remodeling experience is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read measurements and follow technical instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Ability to operate tools safely and follow established procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage assigned tasks.
• Ability to lift, carry, and position materials safely.

Preferred Skills

• Experience fabricating or installing custom cabinets.
• Familiarity with saws, drills, routers, sanders, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of cabinet construction, joinery, and hardware installation.
• Ability to interpret shop drawings and installation plans.
• Experience working on residential kitchen or bathroom remodeling projects.
• Strong problem-solving and quality-control abilities.
• Commitment to safe work practices and professional workmanship.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.0 per week
