What You’ll Be Doing:

The purpose of the Cable & Harness Operator is to: 1) Assemble cable/harness assemblies, subassemblies, products or systems per military or manufacturing specifications; 2) Ensures compliance to quality standards on each project or job while maintaining production goals; and 3) Follow company policy and procedure ensuring a safe, respectful workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Builds assemblies from oral and/or written work instructions and within established shop floor guidelines.
• Strips, crimps, solders, screws, bolts, tack welds, or similar operations to secure parts.
• Execute pull test on wire or cable as required.
• Positions and aligns parts in a specified relationship to each other in a jig, fixture, or other holding device.
• Routes wires per drawing or fixture defined in assembly work instructions.
• Assembles and attaches hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies.
• Perform over-braiding on harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Completes intermediate assemble tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy-bonding, curing, stamping ad etching.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment free of FOD.
• Receives, verifies and process parts for assemblies by identifying specific part numbers.
• Enter information on production records, logs, and other reports as needed.
• Diagnose, document and repair defects on incoming RMA cable and WIA assemblies.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

• 1-3 years manufacturing assembly experience and/or technical school background.
• Strong manual dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret length measuring tools.
• Experience with schematics and blueprints.
• Current or previous certifications in IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-Std preferred. Certifications must be obtained after hire.

Work Environment:

Employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
