Cable Technician

The Telecommunication Cabler is responsible for:

1. Installing, maintaining and repairing cable infrastructure.

2. Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems

3. Testing newly installed or relocated cables according to company specifications

4. Identifying and removing redundant cabling. Installing of televisions, routers and internet technology devices.

5. Troubleshooting issues with the cable network.

6. Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks and inner ducts.

7. Repairing cable poles and towers

8. Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to to safety regulations.

9. Completing paperwork such as timesheets, checklists, vehicle inspection reports and service orders.

10. Determining any faults in network and adjusting, replacing or repairing it.

Qualifications

1. Relevant but not limited to certifications, such as Certificate III or at least a Diploma/Degree in Telecommunications or a related field.

2. Certificate in network planning or telecommunication design.

Knowledge

1. Comprehensive understanding of fibre cable connectors, racks and splice enclosures.

2. Have technical and up to date knowledge of cabling regulations.

3. Awareness of diverse cultural backgrounds

4. Language skills other than in English

5. Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.

6. Knowledge of WHS legislation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,028.00 per year

• Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: On the road
