Cable Technician/Installer

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various telecommunication systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cabling and networking principles, as well as the ability to work effectively with both hand tools and advanced equipment. As a Cable Installer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable connectivity for our clients.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot various types of cabling systems, including Ethernet and low voltage installations.
• Perform fiber splicing to ensure optimal signal quality and connectivity.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment such as voltmeters to complete installations accurately.
• Configure and install Cisco routers and other networking devices as part of telecommunication setups.
• Collaborate with service technicians to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service requests.

Skills

• Proficient in Ethernet cabling techniques and low voltage installations.
• Experience with fiber splicing methods and tools.
• Knowledgeable in computer networking principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Cisco routers and their configuration settings.
• Ability to use voltmeters for testing electrical connections effectively.
