Cabling/Low Voltage Technician

Slable is a small I.T. consulting firm (managed services provider, or MSP) based out of Fairfax, VA. We offer computer/network support, VoIP telephone systems, website/server hosting, and much more. While our office is in Fairfax, we service businesses across the D.C. metro area.

We are looking for additional reliable full time cabling/low voltage technicians working on a full time basis to assist with projects for a wide variety of clients. We are looking for hard workers and fast learners. We can teach you everything we know, but we need you to be motivated.

Eligibility (DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS):

• Must be 18+ with a clean valid driver's license

• Must have a car available at all times; please do NOT apply if you do not have reliable transportation (gas costs are reimbursed if not using a company vehicle)

• Must be able to sit, stand, or kneel for prolonged periods of time

• Must be able to lift and carry heavy items, as well as climb ladders

• Must possess strong analytical skills, and effective interpersonal relationship skills

• Must pass in-person practical assessment

• Must be able to work on construction sites and adhere to PPE requirements (hard hats, boots, and vests)

• Must be able to work commercial construction hours (6am to 2pm on average, but sometimes earlier or later)

• Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends (for overtime pay)

Job Duties:

• Pulling & Terminating Cat6 Cable

• Pulling & Terminating Coax Cable

• Pulling & Splicing Fiber

• Mounting A/V Equipment

• Lift up to 60lbs

• Climb ladders

• Perform other various duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in any of the above

• Basic knowledge of low voltage wiring systems & fiber

• Desire to learn about electronics, computers, software, A/V, and network connectivity

• Ability to travel 2-3 times per year for 1-2 weeks at a time.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
