About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Management team, an exciting opportunity has become available for a CAD and Survey Engineering Coordinator to join ZHAO YANG GEOTECHNIC SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur.

As CAD and Survey Engineering Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our geotechnical engineering operations by managing technical documentation, coordinating survey activities, and producing high-quality CAD drawings. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur, where you will work collaboratively with our engineering team to ensure project deliverables are completed to the highest standards. Your work will be instrumental in translating survey data and engineering concepts into precise technical drawings that guide our projects from conception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive CAD drawings for geotechnical projects, including site plans, cross-sections, and technical specifications using industry-standard software
• Coordinate survey activities and data collection with field teams to ensure accurate and timely information gathering
• Process and analyse survey data, converting raw measurements into usable engineering documentation
• Liaise between survey teams and design engineers to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues
• Maintain an organised filing and archiving system for all technical drawings, survey records, and project documentation
• Perform quality checks on CAD drawings to ensure compliance with company standards and client specifications
• Assist in the preparation of project reports, presentations, and technical documentation for stakeholders
• Support the coordination of site visits and site supervision activities as required
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project delivery and communication

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying, or a related engineering discipline
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, with demonstrated ability to produce precise technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, equipment, and data collection methodologies
• Experience in geotechnical engineering projects or related civil engineering environments
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with technical data and specifications
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and clients
• Familiarity with engineering software and digital documentation systems
• Willingness to undertake field visits and site-based work when required
• Knowledge of Malaysian engineering standards and building regulations would be advantageous
