CAD Engineer (Fabrication)

CAD Engineer - with fabrication experience, for small/medium fab shop in the centre of Hull.

This role would ideally suit a tradesman (plater/fabricator), that wishes to utilise their knowledge and experience to further their career and move from shop floor to office.

Must be keen and willing to learn!

Continuous improvement and training available for the right candidate.

You must have good all round communication skills and must be at the very least, computer literate, with good basic written English and maths skills.

Preference given to individuals with demonstrable knowledge and experience of structural steelwork and general fabrication.

Duties:

• Utilise CAD software to produce accurate and detailed fabrication and technical drawings
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements
• Create 2D and 3D models of components and assemblies
• Assist in the design and development of new products
• Review and modify designs to correct any errors
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications

Requirements:

• Proficiency in CAD software for drafting and design - assistance and training can be given
• Experience with welding, sheet metal, stick welding, hand tools, and power tools
• Ability to fabricate, assemble, and weld components
• Mechanical knowledge to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
