CAD Operator Assistant (Mechanical Engineer)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient CAD Operator who is a Licensed Mechanical Engineer with at least one (1) year of experience in a design consulting firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining mechanical engineering drawings and layouts using CAD software while supporting the design team in delivering high-quality engineering and construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, and construction documentation using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Assist in the development of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical system layouts in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Revise and update engineering drawings based on design changes, project requirements, and client comments.
• Coordinate drawing requirements with architects, engineers, BIM modelers, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, local regulations, and project specifications.
• Maintain organized records of design files, revisions, and project documentation.
• Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Assist in site inspections, design coordination meetings, and technical discussions when required.
• Support project teams in preparing technical reports, schedules, and engineering documentation.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Design Manager or Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PRC License Holder).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a design or engineering consulting firm.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Knowledge of mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
