CAD OPERATOR

About the role

Mike Steel Construction Inc. is looking for a qualified CAD Operator to join our construction team. The role involves preparing and revising technical and construction drawings, coordinating with engineers, architects, and site personnel, and ensuring all drawings are accurate and comply with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and revise technical/construction drawings
• Prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings
• Update drawings based on site conditions and engineer/architect instructions
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and site personnel
• Maintain and organize CAD files and drawing revisions
• Assist with site measurements and verification when required
• Ensure drawings are accurate and comply with project requirements
• Perform other related drafting tasks as assigned

About you

• Graduate of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related course
• 3–5 years relevant experience in construction drafting preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D
• Knowledge in Civil 3D, SketchUp, or Revit is an advantage
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil plans
• Experience in preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings is an advantage
• Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Willing to work overtime when required
