CAD Reinforced Concrete (RC) Technician

The Vacancy We are looking for a Mid-Level CAD Reinforced Concrete (RC) Technician to join our Sligo based Technical Design team to assist in the delivery of key infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is keen on precision within reinforced concrete detailing, wants to continuously improve their skills, and uses their initiative to support the structural team. Key Responsibilities

• Produce precise 2D and 3D structural drawings, including general arrangements, reinforcement layouts, sections, and complex RC details.
• Prepare accurate bar bending schedules in accordance with current standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with design engineers to interpret structural calculations and ensure accurate representation in construction documentation.
• Ensure all RC designs strictly adhere to relevant Eurocodes and internal quality standards.
• Assist in the development of 3D structural models to facilitate better coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform rigorous self-checks and peer reviews of drawings to identify discrepancies before issuance.
• Provide technical support to site teams, addressing queries and modifying designs to resolve construction challenges.

Key Requirements

• A 3rd level qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related technical drafting discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience within a structural engineering consultancy or structural concrete design office.
• Proven track record in RC detailing of commercial, industrial, or civil infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit (Structural) and/or specialised RC detailing software (CADS RC).
• Solid understanding of structural design principles and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of Eurocodes relating to concrete design.
• Enhanced communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project managers.
