CAD / Revit Operator

Barrie Beard Ltd is a busy, family-run electrical contractor based in Bromsgrove, with around 120 staff delivering projects across education, leisure, commercial and public sector work. We are growing our drawing department and looking for a CAD / Revit Operator to join the team.

HOURS, LOCATION & SALARY
Full time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (42.5 paid hours a week) is our suggested schedule. This would be open to discussion. Occasional later finishes when project deadlines require. This is an office-based role in Bromsgrove, with no working from home. Reports to a director, working day-to-day with our BIM Lead. The Salary for this role would be dependent on level of experience.

THE ROLE
You will produce the electrical drawings and project documents our site teams build from. Day to day that means:

• CAD layouts and Revit models
• As-built drawings at the end of each project
• Drawing registers, keeping issues and revisions accurate and up to date

We work in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Procore. You will work closely with our BIM Lead, our contracts team and our site foremen, so what you produce has to be right and has to be on time.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential

• Basic CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar) from work, college or an apprenticeship

• The ability to read construction drawings

• Accuracy and good attention to detail

• Someone who can juggle several projects and meet deadlines

• Flexibility on hours, and willingness to help in other departments when needed

• Good use of computers such as Excel, Word & Email.

Desirable

• Revit or BIM experience. If you do not have it, we will train you.

• Familiarity with electrical drawings and symbols, or BS 7671

• Experience of Navisworks or Procore
