CAD SPECIALIST

About the role

The CAD Specialist is responsible for preparing, developing, and revising technical drawings and layouts for solar PV projects. The role involves converting engineering designs, site measurements, and project requirements into accurate and detailed CAD drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and company requirements. The CAD Specialist works closely with Engineers, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and other project team members to ensure that drawings are accurate, complete, and properly updated throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for solar PV projects, including solar panel layouts, mounting structures, electrical layouts, site plans, and other technical drawings.
• Develop drawings based on engineering plans, site measurements, technical specifications, and project requirements.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes, site conditions, and client requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation and field changes.
• Ensure that all drawings are accurate, properly dimensioned, and follow company drafting standards.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Structural, and Project Engineers regarding design requirements and revisions.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.
• Assist Engineers in preparing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, equipment layouts, and other technical documentation, when required.
• Incorporate site survey data, measurements, and field information into CAD drawings.
• Maintain and organize CAD files, drawing revisions, project folders, and other technical documents.

About you

• Graduate of Drafting Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1–3 years of experience as a CAD Operator, CAD Specialist, Draftsman, or similar position.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, technical drawings, site plans, and electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, dimensions, symbols, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Willing to conduct site visits and coordinate with project teams when required.
