CAD Technician

Purpose of the Role

Produce accurate civil and structural engineering drawings and models to support the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, Causeway PDF, Civils 3D, Revit or MicroStation.
• Develop site layouts, drainage plans, highways drawings, foundations, steelwork and reinforced concrete detailing.
• Update drawings in line with engineer comments and design changes.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, client requirements and company procedures.
• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines, including mechanical, electrical and architectural teams.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control procedures.
• Support project teams with quantities, schedules and as-built drawings.

Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and ideally Causeway PDS and Flow and/or Revit.
• Understanding of civil engineering and structural engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and specifications.
• Knowledge of UK design standards and construction practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Typical Qualifications

• HNC/HND, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or CAD.
• Relevant CAD certification desirable.
• Experience within engineering consultancy, construction or infrastructure projects.

Pay: £25,420.00-£48,228.48 per year
