CAD Technician Intern (Agricultural Irrigation Design)

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time CAD Technician or CAD Intern to support our Agricultural Irrigation Design team. This role focuses on CAD drawing clean-up, final plan details, and creation of irrigation-related details to help our designers produce clear, accurate, construction-ready drawings.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys technical work, wants real experience in the irrigation industry, and is eager to learn tools and standards used in agricultural design and field installation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform AutoCAD clean-up and drawing organization (layers, linework, labels, templates, formatting)
• Add final details to irrigation plan sets such as:
• Valves, manifolds, pump station components, meters, filters, regulators, air/vac assemblies
• Mainline and submain piping layout callouts
• Lateral layouts, flush lines, and blocks/zones
• Notes, dimensions, and installation details
• Create and update irrigation detail drawings based on markups, sketches, and direction from the design team
• Revise drawings based on field feedback, redlines, and design changes
• Assist with maintaining CAD libraries (blocks, standard details, symbols, and title sheets)
• Support general design/documentation tasks as needed to help keep projects moving
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Interns Welcome)

• Interns, students working toward relevant degree (agriculture or engineering) and entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply
• Basic AutoCAD experience or strong willingness to learn quickly
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow drafting standards
• Able to take direction, ask questions, and apply markups accurately
• Organized, reliable, and able to work a consistent part-time schedule

Preferred Skills

• Interest in agricultural irrigation systems, farming operations, or water infrastructure
• Familiarity with common irrigation components and/or hydraulics (helpful but not required)
• Irricad experience or desire to learn Irricad is a strong plus
• Experience reading plans, construction drawings, or technical diagrams

Schedule & Work Environment

• Part-time position with a consistent, regular schedule
• Flexible hours may be available to accommodate school schedules
• In-office or hybrid may be available depending on location and workload
