CAD/CAM programmer

Contract 5-Axis Offline CNC Programmer (PowerMill / PowerShape)

New opportunity for an experienced Offline CNC Programmer to provide short-term contract cover within a busy 5-axis machining environment. You must be able to hit the ground running ,producing production-ready programs, supporting first-offs, and driving continuous improvement across programming, tooling and fixturing.

Responsibilities:

• Offline 5-axis CNC programming using Autodesk PowerMill and PowerShape
• Create OMV programs, probing cycles and inspection guidance
• Prove out and support first-off runs, ensuring parts are ready for production release
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve programming/machining issues
• Optimise toolpaths and implement robust, repeatable programming strategies
• Produce clear operator instructions, work instructions and SOPs
• Validate fixtures, suggest improvements, and support fixture design guidelines
• Manage programming workload to meet the production schedule
• Maintain department documentation and control ERP entries for onsite tooling manufacture

Requirements:

• Strong CNC programming background with proven 5-axis offline experience
• PowerMill + PowerShape expertise (essential)
• Working knowledge of FANUC and/or HEIDENHAIN controls
• Confident using Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting
• Quality-focused with a practical continuous improvement mindset
