Cafe and Kitchen Assistant

One Market Street Cafe has a vacancy for a part-time cafe/kitchen assistant to join our small, friendly team. We are an independent, busy cafe in a small market town.

This role will involve a mixture of both front and back of house, focusing on work in the kitchen. You will primarily assist in food preparation. Other roles will include greeting and seating customers, taking customers' orders, clearing tables, use of the till, hot drink making including use of the coffee machine, working as a team, washing up, helping to keep things clean and tidy and general needs of the cafe.

The role will be part-time, working 3/4 days, including the occasional Saturday shift, between 16-20 hours per week. There will be some flexibility with regards to these hours, depending on the season, staffing levels and workload.

There is the opportunity for additional training, including a barista course. Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in hospitality or in customer service and food preparation, however this is not essential.

The start date of the job will be the week beginning 26/10/26. National minimum wage applies.
