Blath is a little breath of fresh air - inspired by the land, shaped by nature and created for moments of comfort and calm. Our new cafe at The Heritage will be a welcoming space where guests can enjoy great coffee, wholesome food and a relaxed, memorable experience.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Cafe Assistant to join our team and play an important role in the successful opening and day-to-day running of Blath.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for hospitality who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service and wants to be part of something new.

As a Cafe Assistant, you will support the daily operations of the cafe, ensuring our guests receive a warm welcome and consistently excellent service. From preparing and serving quality coffee to assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean, inviting environment, you will help create the experience that makes Blath special.

Blath will open seven days a week, from early morning to late afternoon. Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays is required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, efficient and professional service.

Prepare and serve quality coffee and other beverages, ensuring consistently high standards.

Assist with food preparation and the presentation and service of wholesome food.

Maintain excellent cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards throughout the cafe.

Ensure counters, equipment, service areas and guest seating areas are clean, tidy and well presented.

Assist with daily opening and closing procedures to ensure the cafe is ready for service.

Replenish stock and supplies, keeping service areas organised and well maintained.

Respond to guest queries and requests promptly and professionally.

Work closely with the Cafe Supervisor and wider team to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.

Follow all company procedures and contribute to a positive, welcoming atmosphere for guests and colleagues.

Requirements

Previous experience in a cafe, coffee shop or similar food and beverage environment is desirable.

Barista experience is an advantage, with a willingness to learn and develop coffee-making skills.

An interest in food preparation and delivering quality food and beverage service.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

A friendly, positive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding cleanliness, presentation and food safety.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment.

A flexible and proactive approach, with a willingness to support colleagues where needed.
