About Us

Magico Café is a warm, vibrant artisan bakery café in the heart of Athlone.
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Cafe Assistant to help lead our café team, ensuring excellent service and smooth daily operations — especially during busy mornings and weekends.

The Role

As a Cafe Assistant , you’ll be responsible for leading the café floor and making sure every costumer enjoys the welcoming Magico experience.
You’ll assist in daily operations, handle customer interactions, and ensure everything runs efficiently — from the coffee bar to the counter sales service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the front-of-house team during shifts
• Greet and serve customers with warmth and professionalism
• Manage collection orders, seating, and overall service flow
• Prepare sandwiches and serve coffees and drinks (barista experience required)
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
• Handle cash, POS transactions, and end-of-day procedures
• Communicate effectively with bakery teams.
• Maintain high standards of presentation
• Help create a positive and supportive team environment

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in café or hospitality
• Confident barista with strong sales and customer service skills
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene procedures
• Friendly, organised, and calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude
• English language required
• Must have valid work authorisation for Ireland
