About Us
Coop Bar & Café is an independent, welcoming venue in the heart of Ringwood, offering everything from morning coffees and brunch to evening drinks, pizzas, small plates and live events.
We're passionate about great hospitality, quality products and creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where customers feel at home.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Bar & Café Supervisor to join our team at the end of October.
The Role
This is a hands-on supervisory position, perfect for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys leading a team and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
You'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the venue, supporting the management team, supervising shifts and ensuring our customers receive consistently excellent service.
From busy brunch services to lively evenings behind the bar, no two shifts are quite the same!
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example and can confidently take responsibility for running a smooth and successful shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, motivate and support the team during shifts.
- Lead by example, working alongside colleagues across all areas of bar and café service.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take responsibility for opening, closing and the smooth running of shifts.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
- Ensure food and drinks are prepared and served to a consistently high standard.
- Support stock control, deliveries, ordering requirements and minimising wastage.
- Handle tills, cashing up and end-of-day procedures accurately.
- Ensure food hygiene, health and safety and licensing procedures are followed.
- Support the delivery of private functions, live music and other events.
- Deal confidently and professionally with customer queries and complaints.
- Communicate effectively with management and the wider team.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in hospitality, ideally within a café, bar or restaurant environment.
- Confident supervising staff and taking responsibility for a shift.
- Friendly, approachable and genuinely passionate about customer service.
- Reliable, organised and able to use their initiative.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- A natural team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Happy to get stuck in, whether that's making coffees, pouring drinks, running food or helping clean down.
- A confident communicator who can motivate and support colleagues.
- Flexible and available to work a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred, although we'd also consider an experienced hospitality team member who's ready to take the next step in their career.
Barista experience, cocktail knowledge and familiarity with bar operations would be advantageous.
What We Offer
- A friendly, supportive and independent working environment.
- A varied role across both café and bar operations.
- Opportunities to develop your leadership and hospitality skills.
- The chance to take real ownership of your shifts and make a positive impact.
- A welcoming team and a workplace where your contribution matters.
- The opportunity to be part of a growing local hospitality business.
