Café Bar Supervisor

Permanent | 30 hours per week (flexibility on hours for the right candidate) | £14.14 per hour (£29,411 FTE)

Location - Gregson Community & Arts Centre, Lancaster, Lancashire, LA1 3PY

We’re looking for a Café Bar Supervisor who enjoys a busy environment, takes pride in good service and can confidently lead a shift at our award-winning community venue.

The Gregson is a community space where people come together for a pint, a coffee, a conversation and whole variety of activities. From daytime gatherings to busy evenings of live music and festivals, our Café Bar is at the heart of it all.

You’ll work alongside our staff and volunteers, supervising shifts and helping keep the Café Bar running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who leads by example, gets stuck in and helps create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who comes through the doors.

About you

Finding the right person matters most to us. If you don’t meet every criterion, or are looking for a particular number of hours, we’d still love to hear from you.

Ideally, you’ll have:

*At least 2 year’s experience in a cafe, pub, bar or other hospitality setting ideally including licensed premises.

* Confidence taking responsibility for shifts and supporting colleagues.

* An interest in creativity, community life and what makes the Gregson special.

* A friendly manner, clear communication and good organisational skills.

* A reliable, welcoming approach to people from different backgrounds.

Hours and working pattern

We have around four days a week in mind, but finding the right person matters more than a fixed number of hours. Whether you’re looking for two days or five, we’d love to hear from you.

The role involves a mix of daytime, evening and weekend shifts. We know people have commitments outside of work, and we always do our best to work around these when planning rotas.
