Café Cashier

Job Summary

Blue Bottle Coffee is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Café Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will welcome guests, take orders accurately, process payments, assist with café service, maintain a clean and organized cashier station, and support smooth daily café operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
• Take coffee, beverage, and food orders accurately and efficiently
• Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other payment transactions
• Provide receipts and assist guests with order-related questions
• Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and available options
• Communicate orders clearly with baristas and café team members
• Assist with takeout and pickup orders as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cashier station
• Restock cups, lids, napkins, packaging, condiments, and other supplies
• Assist with basic food and beverage preparation when needed
• Support baristas and team members during busy service periods
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace cleanliness procedures
• Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily café duties
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by café management

Requirements

• Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic cash-handling and POS experience is a plus
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced café environment
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

• Café cashier or front-of-house experience
• Experience using POS systems

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
