Lewis’s Ice Cream & Coffee Shop – Morecambe Promenade

Hours: 16–24 hours over three days per week, including weekends.

We’re looking for an experienced, dependable chef to prepare and serve quality café food in our busy seafront coffee shop. You must be confident working independently, organising your preparation and managing orders during service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches and specials to our agreed recipes and portion sizes.
• Complete daily preparation so the kitchen is ready for service.
• Produce some baking and homemade items.
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and service times.
• Complete food safety due diligence, including temperature records, date labelling and opening and closing checks.
• Follow allergen procedures and communicate clearly with the counter team about dietary requirements and ingredient changes.
• Store food correctly, rotate stock and monitor use-by dates.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment and storage areas clean and organised.
• Monitor stock levels, report ordering requirements and record wastage.
• Work closely with the café team to keep service running smoothly.

About you

• Previous professional cooking experience is essential.
• Able to run the kitchen independently.
• Organised, reliable and calm during busy periods.
• A sound understanding of food hygiene, allergens and safe working practices.
• Takes pride in consistent cooking, presentation and cleanliness.
• Some baking experience would be an advantage.
• Available to work weekends.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
