Café Chef / Cook

We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and capable Chef or experienced Cook to join our catering team at Pensthorpe, one of Norfolk's leading visitor attractions.

With a recently opened café, a modern purpose-built kitchen and a growing food and beverage offering, it's an exciting time to join us.

And one of the best things about the role? Our shifts are predominantly daytime, typically between 8am and 3:30pm.

Whether you're an experienced chef looking for a change of pace or a confident cook wanting to develop your skills, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You'll be working alongside our friendly kitchen team, preparing and serving freshly made food for our visitors.

Our menu includes homemade soups, pies, quiches, fresh salads, breakfasts, light lunches and seasonal specials.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting fresh, delicious food
• Supporting our busy breakfast and lunchtime services
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
• Working as part of a supportive, experienced team
• Helping develop new dishes and seasonal specials

What we're looking for

We're more interested in your cooking ability, attitude and enthusiasm than a long list of qualifications.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience cooking in a café, pub, restaurant, school, care home or similar kitchen
• Confidence preparing fresh food in a busy environment
• A good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Pride in producing consistently good food

You don't need to have worked in a traditional restaurant kitchen. If you're a capable cook with relevant experience, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

Working hours

We have various permanent contract options available between 21 and 35 hours per week, depending on your preference.

Most shifts are between 8am and 3:30pm, although some evening working is required for special events. Weekend and bank holiday availability is also essential.
