Cafe General Manager

We are looking for a hands-on General Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day café operations. We need a strong, confident leader who can build structure, hold people accountable, and create a high-performing team culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage the café team
• Own scheduling, callouts, and shift coverage
• Maintain inventory and place supply orders
• Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and health-code compliance
• Maintain excellent customer service and café standards
• Address performance, attendance, and behavioral issues quickly
• Resolve staff conflicts professionally and decisively
• Identify and communicate maintenance and equipment issues
• Keep operations organized and running smoothly without constant supervision

Leadership Experience

• Proven experience managing a high-volume café, restaurant, or similar operation
• Experience taking over an established team and establishing leadership, structure, and accountability
• Comfortable managing resistance to leadership, poor morale, insubordination, and team conflict
• Able to reset expectations and improve team culture while retaining strong performers
• Confident making difficult personnel decisions when necessary
• Calm, fair, and decisive under pressure

Strong preference for candidates who have successfully inherited and stabilized a challenging or resistant team.

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, solves problems, leads from the front, and can independently run the café at a high standard.

Pay: From $34.00 per hour
