Café General Manager

Job Summary
Scooter's Coffee is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Café General Manager to oversee daily café operations, lead team members, and maintain high standards for food and beverage quality and guest service. The ideal candidate will create an efficient, positive, and welcoming environment while supporting business performance and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, including opening, closing, service, and team activities.
• Lead, supervise, and support café team members during all service periods.
• Create staff schedules and coordinate shift coverage based on business needs.
• Ensure customers receive friendly, efficient, and professional service.
• Monitor beverage and food quality, presentation, portioning, and order accuracy.
• Coordinate with team members to maintain smooth and timely order preparation.
• Address customer questions, concerns, and service issues professionally.
• Support employee hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development.
• Monitor POS transactions, cash handling, deposits, and daily operational records.
• Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and product rotation.
• Monitor coffee, food ingredients, packaging, and other café supplies.
• Maintain clean, organized, sanitary, and safe customer and preparation areas.
• Monitor labor, product usage, waste, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve service, team performance, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate operational updates, staffing needs, and performance concerns to management.

Qualifications

• Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, hospitality, or food-service management experience preferred.
• Experience supervising, training, and developing team members.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory procedures, and café operations.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and service quality.
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented work ethic.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform operational tasks for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
