Old Foundry Coffee | Penryn (Kernick)

32–38 hours per week | 5 days per week, including some Saturdays

We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Café Lead to join our team at Old Foundry Coffee in Penryn.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves great coffee, preparing fresh food daily, takes pride in excellent customer service and enjoys helping a small team work to its full potential.

You’ll take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of our Penryn café, working alongside the team to maintain our standards, manage stock efficiently and help the business continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the café.
• Preparing consistently excellent coffee, dialling in and maintaining high barista standards.
• Training, supporting and developing other team members, particularly in barista skills.
• Maintaining excellent standards of customer service, food presentation and cleanliness.
• Managing daily stock levels, ordering and deliveries.
• Helping minimise waste, control costs and improve efficiency.
• Ensuring food hygiene, allergen procedures and health and safety standards are consistently followed.
• Taking initiative, solving everyday problems and helping create a positive, organised working environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Excellent barista experience is essential, including the confidence and ability to train others.
• Experience preparing fresh food in a busy café or similar hospitality environment is essential.
• Previous experience in a senior café, hospitality supervisory or team-leading role.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification.
• Strong knowledge of food allergens and safe food handling procedures.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• A friendly, professional approach to customers and colleagues.
• Someone who is proactive, dependable and takes pride in their work.
• An understanding of stock control, portion management and reducing waste.
