We are looking for an experienced, hands-on hospitality leader to manage our specialty tea and dessert café in Sydney CBD.

This is a full leadership position, ideal for someone with 5+ years of café or hospitality experience — including at least 1–2 years in a management or senior supervisory capacity — who thrives on running a tight, high-quality operation and building a great team culture.

You may currently be working as a Café Manager, Assistant Manager, Store Manager or Senior Supervisor, and looking for your next step.

About the Role
As Café Manager, you will take full ownership of daily café operations, lead the team, and be accountable for performance, presentation and customer experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all day-to-day café operations, including opening and closing
  • Leading, rostering and developing the café team
  • Owning stock control, supplier ordering, and cost/margin management
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace standards
  • Handling escalated customer issues and maintaining service quality
  • Monitoring and reporting on sales, wastage and labour cost against targets
  • Recruiting, onboarding and training new team members
  • Implementing and enforcing café procedures and SOPs
  • Working directly with ownership on strategy, promotions and improvements
  • Driving a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture
  • Ensuring full compliance with the Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119) and relevant employment obligations

About You
We are looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years of experience in café, hospitality or a similar environment
  • At least 1–2 years in a management or senior leadership role
  • Strong people-management and rostering experience
  • Solid understanding of stock, cost control and basic P&L drivers
  • Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills
  • The ability to make sound decisions independently under pressure
  • A professional, accountable and approachable leadership style
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and building great customer experiences

Visa Requirement
Applicants must have valid Australian working rights with at least 12 months remaining on their current visa.

Why Join Us?

  • Full-time employment with genuine autonomy in running the café
  • Supportive, close-knit ownership team
  • Opportunity to shape and grow the business
  • Career growth as the business expands
  • Hands-on general management experience
