Empire Tavern has recently opened its doors for morning coffee, and we’re looking for a friendly, hands-on Café Manager to help make us part of Hackney’s daily routine.

We’re a fun, evolving venue with plenty of room for your ideas. This is an opportunity to take ownership, bring your personality to the space and have the creative freedom to make it your own—with the support of a wider group of venues behind you.

About you

You know your coffee, have experience leading a café team and care about making people feel welcome. You enjoy learning names, remembering regular orders and turning a quick coffee stop into someone’s favourite part of the morning.

You’ll ideally know Hackney and be excited to connect with the people who live and work around us.

The role

• Run the café day to day, keeping coffee and service standards high.
• Lead and support the team through busy mornings.
• Stay on top of stock, ordering and the little details that keep things running smoothly.
• Bring fresh ideas to grow the café and build relationships with our neighbours.
