Cafe Manager

About the role

You'll lead from the floor, keep service running smoothly and build a team that works well together. Working closely with the owner and kitchen team, you'll take responsibility for service standards, staff performance and the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Managing daily café operations and leading busy services
• Training, supporting and giving clear direction to the team
• Preparing rosters and managing staffing to match trade
• Maintaining consistent coffee, food presentation and service standards
• Managing stock, ordering, cash handling and opening and closing procedures
• Handling customer feedback professionally
• Communicating with the kitchen to keep service organised
• Identifying practical ways to improve sales, efficiency and reduce waste

About you

• At least two years' experience as a Café Manager, Assistant Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role
• Confident leading people and addressing issues fairly and directly
• Strong barista skills and enjoys working on the floor
• Organised, reliable and calm under pressure
• Takes initiative and follows tasks through
• Understands staffing costs, stock control and café performance
• Available to work weekends
• A current Manager's Certificate would be an advantage
